Logging-in

Returning customers who have already registered with the site should log in on the left hand side of the homepage with your e-mail address and password. Customers can also choose to log-in at any point during their visit, however before an order can be processed all customers will be required to either log-in, or to register as a new customer.

To register as a customer you are required to enter your details in the fields provided.

Address: enter your e-mail address in the first box.

Password: enter your chosen password in the second box. Your password should be easy for you to remember (for security reasons please do not write down your password or reveal it to anyone else).

You will then pass to the next screen where you will be required to complete your contact details, address, postcode, country of residence and telephone number, which should include your regional code.

Mailings: You can opt in or out of receiving mailings from Sara Louise Kakes and associated companies.

When you have completed the form select the 'register me' button at the bottom of the form to conclude your registration.

Once you have logged in, you will receive the options to continue shopping, change your profile or view previous orders.

You can change your personal details, including your mailing preference, at any time by choosing 'change your profile'

 

How to shop online

 

Browse

Browse by using the categories and accompanying images at the top of the screen. A sub-menu will appear when you mouse-over each category, for example brownies, flapjacks, cookies, muffins.

 

Gift Search

To search for a specific product, enter a word or phrase into the search field (located in the top left-hand corner) and press the 'find gifts' arrow key. If you have a Sara Louise Kakes catalogue or know the product code of the item you are looking for, you can enter it here.

The search will look for products that match all of the words (or the product code) you enter. The results of your search will then be displayed in the centre of your screen. To find out more information about the products, click the image or title of the product. You may also add these products to your basket by selecting the basket button.

If no results are returned try searching using a different word or spelling.

 

Gift Finder

You can also view our selected range of gifts for those people closest to you, such as your Mother (located in the top left-hand corner, below the Gift Search). Simply choose the option you require from the drop down list.

You can also view products within your price range by selecting one of the price options below in the 'What Price...' menu.

 

Homepage Gift Ideas

The display of seasonal and traditional offers on the homepage is changed on a regular basis to help you find exactly the right gift for your needs. Select the image or title to find out more information. Alternatively, add this to your basket and proceed to checkout.

 

Product Details

You can find out more information about any product by clicking on the title, i button, or the image of the product. You will be presented with a product description and a large product image.

 

Your Basket

As you browse around the site and add products to your basket, you will be taken to your basket page. You will also notice that the value of your order and the quantity of items making up your order will appear in the top left of the screen, this is your 'Mini Basket'. (If you click 'checkout' on this basket it will take you to your Main Shopping Basket)

At your main basket, you can change the quantity or delete items from your order. Once you are happy with the items you have in your basket, click the 'delivery options & checkout' link to proceed with your order.

Should you wish to add other items to your order, please choose the 'continue shopping' link, which will return you to the category you were previously in, or choose a category from the top of the page.

 

The Checkout

Once you have passed into our secure order process you will be met with a sequence of pages to complete, as follows:

 

Stage 1 - Log-in/register
Here you will be asked to log-in with your email address and password, or if you haven't already registered with Sara Louise Kakes you will be asked to give us your personal details and choose a password. If you have already logged in before getting to this stage of your order, you will not be shown this page.

 

Stage 2 - Shipping address
At this stage you will be asked to choose an address to send your order to from a drop-down list. The list will contain your own address and the address of anyone you have sent items to in the past. If you would like to send your order to an address that does not appear in the list, please choose 'add new address' and enter the recipient's details here.

If you would like to send something to an address that appears in the list, yet you would like to make a change to this address, choose the recipient from the list and then choose 'edit address' and make the necessary changes.

You can also enter a gift message on this page that you would like sent with your parcel. If you would not like a gift message to be sent please leave the boxes blank.

 

Stage 3 - Delivery Method
This stage of the process allows you to chose an appropriate delivery date and cost for your order. Initially, you will be presented with a calendar; from which you should choose the date you wish your order to be delivered.

Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver on certain days including bank holidays - these days will be displayed as greyed out days on the calendar.

Should you require your gift to be delivered for a seasonal event, such as Christmas, please choose the seasonal option - this will ensure that your gift arrives in time for the event and your parcel will have a message on it informing the recipient that it is not to be opened until the date of the event.

Upon clicking on your chosen date you will be presented with all the options for delivery that day, depending on the current date and the date chosen these options may vary.

Please click on the box next to the delivery option you would like and click to proceed with your order.

Should you not wish to use any of the delivery methods presented for your chosen date you can return to the calendar to try a different date by clicking 'change date'.

 

Stage 4 - Payment information
The payment screen requires you to enter the details of your debit or credit card. You must enter the name and address of the cardholder. These fields will automatically be populated with the details you entered when you registered - if these are incorrect please choose another set of cardholder details from the list. The addresses in the list can be edited in exactly the same way as those in your address book at the shipping details stage.

 

Stage 5 - Summary
This page shows you a summary of all your order details. Please check that these are all correct, before clicking 'complete my order' to submit your order to Thorntons. Should any details on the summary page be incorrect please use the back button within the page (not on your browser) to move back through the order process and correct those details.

 

Stage 6 - Confirmation
This page confirms that you have successfully placed your order with Sara Louise Kakes. Please take note of the order number given to you at this stage and use it in any further correspondence you may have with us. Please print out the printer friendly summary from this page for your own records.

Should you wish to send the same order again to a different recipient, please click the repeat order link, which will take you back to the beginning of the order process, then proceed through the 6 stages again, changing the necessary details.

For security reasons, once you have completed your order we advise you to log-out of the site.
